Shivaangee is a dancer, maker and researcher with an experimental practice that orbits improvisation, collective composition and accessibility. They are constantly curious about dance as a medium through which we can stay with and understand our multiplicities - across our physical, social, relational, autobiographical and political experiences.
As a maker of audience experiences, Shivaangee is passionate about not excluding people. They work as an audio describer and access consultant, drawing on their autistic, queer and diasporic experience to advocate for cultural accessibility and centering marginalised perspectives. They are often asked to facilitate audiences in Q&As, pre-show access sessions and touch-tours.
Their work has been staged in the UK at Nottdance Festival, Bradford City of Culture, Rich Mix Theatre, Southbank Centre, Watermans Theatre, Bloomsbury Festival, Resolution Festival, Next Choreography Festival & Dance Umbrella Croydon.
They lecture regularly on BA and MA programmes at London School of Contemporary Dance and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and regularly facilitate dance for marginalised communities such as LGBTQIA+ refugees at Micro Rainbow and older women at St. Lukes Community Centre.
